Water Treatment not built for visitors

Council yesterday posted to their Facebook page that the Ohakune water treatment plant is designed for usual resident population. Council advised, "visitors in Ohakune for the ski season, Ruapehu District Council requests residents to please conserve water where possible." See original post screenshot below

This statement goes against the Water Service's Act, and goes against Clive (RDC CEO) statements made 36:55 into this Council meeting, he stated "With your 1000 population, we actually have to provide infrastructure for 10-11,000,12,000 population"

There were many comments from residents very unhappy at this statement, that they edited their post to remove "The Water Treatment Plant is designed for usual resident population. During peak ski season and the influx of visitors that it brings, the plant struggles to meet demand."

Council are just demonstrating more and more, that people running the show, just don't know the facts, the acts, and their obligations under the law!
